Citizen of Uzbekistan who got into a difficult situation in India returned home
A citizen of Uzbekistan who went to India believing the false promises of unknown persons and got into a difficult situation has been returned home.
In June 2021, the documents of O.T. (female), who arrived in Delhi, were taken away by those who promised her a lucrative job. She was then forced to engage in illegal activities through various threats and intimidation.
Reportedly, she was caught and arrested by Indian police during raids and experienced many other unpleasant incidents.
As soon as the citizen applied to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, steps were taken to provide her with the necessary consular and legal assistance.
In particular, in order to return the citizen to the homeland, the diplomats of the embassy held official negotiations with the relevant agencies of India regarding this situation. On August 14, she arrived home by Delhi-Tashkent flight.
The Embassy of Uzbekistan urged the citizens traveling to India not to be deceived by the false promises of various dubious groups or individuals, and to strictly comply with the requirements of local legislation when entering and staying in this country.
In case of such situations, the diplomatic mission recommends immediately contacting them at +91 11 2467 0774/75 or through the telegram bot @consuluzbindia_bot.
