Every year, the UK holds a competition among alumni who graduated from more than 120 universities in the country and are currently working in various fields in their motherland.
In 2023, more than 1,200 applicants from about 100 countries submitted applications to the organizing committee of the competition.
Reportedly, there were highly qualified native speakers of English as well among the applicants and Sattibaev managed to overtake them this year to win the Culture & Creativity Award.
Iskandar Sattibaev graduated from the University of Edinburgh. He currently works at school No. 1 in the city of Andijan. Aside from teaching English, he has also supervised the creation of SpeakEng, a mobile application that has helped over 100,000 people learn English in Uzbekistan.
