Tashkent to introduce health insurance system in state clinics from 2024
Starting from the new year, on the basis of insurance, the population will be able to receive a number of medical services and medicines for groups of diseases free of charge.
From January 1, 2024, state health insurance mechanisms will be gradually introduced in medical institutions in Tashkent. This is provided for by the presidential decree “On measures for the high-quality and timely implementation of the Strategy “Uzbekistan – 2030” in 2023”.
Health insurance provides for the introduction of a state-guaranteed volume of free medical services and a list of medicines for groups of diseases.
In addition, work to provide persons with disabilities with prosthetic, orthopedic, rehabilitation and medicines will be organized on the basis of a “voucher” system.
At the same time, persons with disabilities are given the opportunity to purchase goods and services from suppliers chosen by them, the costs of which are covered by the state budget.
