163 people injured, 1 killed as a result of explosion in Sergel district – Health Ministry
24 of the injured were admitted to six hospitals in different areas. As the rest of them were in good health, they were given outpatient medical care and sent home.
1 person was killed and 163 people were injured in various degrees as a result of a strong explosion in one of the warehouses located in the Sergeli district of Tashkent, the Ministry of Health said.
“The total number of injured is 163. 24 of them were admitted to the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care and its branch in the Tashkent region, Tashkent City Emergency Medical Hospital, Republican and City Clinical Hospitals No. 1, and the City Maternity Hospital No. 1. As the remaining 138 people were in good health, they were given outpatient medical care and sent home,” the report says.
The ministry confirmed that a teenager born in 2006 died on the spot as a result of the accident. He was brought to the hospital with no signs of life.
“Currently, there are no seriously injured patients being treated in the above hospitals. Their health is satisfactory.
The leading medical specialists of Uzbekistan are involved in providing medical services to patients.
All the necessary stock of medicines has been created to provide quick and quality medical care in the treatment facilities,” the ministry concluded.
