Criminal case initiated into the explosion at a warehouse in Tashkent
To investigate the causes of the incident, an investigation team has been formed.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the explosion that occurred on September 28 at 02:43 on Khanabad Street in the Sergeli district, about 10 thousand square meters of a warehouse owned by Inter Logistics LLC caught fire.
The shock wave damaged several homes, buildings, and vehicles. So far, 163 people have been reported injured and one person died.
To study the details of the incident, a government commission has been created.
Based on the fact of the explosion, a criminal case is initiated under Part 2, paragraphs “a” and “b” of Article 259 of the Criminal Code (Violation of fire safety rules, resulting in the death of a person and other serious consequences).
The article provides for punishment by restriction of freedom from 2 to 5 years or imprisonment for up to 5 years with deprivation of certain rights.
Currently, as part of the criminal investigation, a team has been formed consisting of specialists from the relevant authorities. To establish the causes of the fire, appropriate forensic examinations have been appointed, and investigative actions are urgently carried out.
