Russia to start export of gas to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan on October 7
Uzbekistan will buy 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia per year through a commercial contract.
On October 7, presidents Mirziyoyev, Putin, and Tokayev will participate in the ceremony dedicated to the start of the Russian gas export to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan.
"In accordance with this commercial agreement, it is planned to buy 2.8 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the Russian Federation through the territory of Kazakhstan.
The entry into force of the agreement and the supply of gas from Russia to Uzbekistan will play a very important role in ensuring energy stability not only in our republic, but also in Central Asia," said Sherzod Asadov, press secretary for the President of Uzbekistan.
The government of Uzbekistan signed a two-year commercial contract with Gazprom within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on the import of natural gas.
The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced that all the necessary infrastructure and gas pipelines have been prepared for the reception of high-pressure gas.
