Uzbekistan’s FM Saidov takes part in Forum of CA Foreign Ministers and OSCE Secretary General
On October 31, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov took part in the Forum of the OSCE Secretary General and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asia Countries.
The event was held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the complex challenges the region is facing, such as border security risks, the far-reaching implications of climate change, and the development of transport links.
“Together with the OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid and colleagues from Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, we discussed current aspects of our common agenda, especially cooperation in ensuring border security, combating climate change and developing our transport network,” Saidov wrote in his official Telegram channel.
It should be noted that Uzbekistan has been a member of the OSCE (formerly the Council for Security and Cooperation in Europe) since February 26, 1992; in February 2018, the republic resumed participation in the activities of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
