Mi-8 helicopter crashed at “Kattakurgan” military training camp
The helicopter crew was killed.

On November 17, 2023, at around 20:15, a Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Air Defense Forces and the Air Force Command crashed while conducting a training flight at the “Kattakurgan” training camp, the Ministry of Defense reports.
It is noted that the helicopter crew died as a result of the tragedy. Their number was not mentioned in the report.
It is noted that a special commission is working to determine the causes of the accident at the scene.
Mi-8 is a multipurpose helicopter developed by the M. L. Mill Experimental Design Bureau in the early 1960s. It is the most famous helicopter in the history of aviation. It is widely used in more than 50 countries of the world to perform various civil and military tasks.
According to unofficial data, as of 2023, there are 52 Mi-8 helicopters in Uzbekistan.
It should be recalled that on October 18, 2016, 9 military personnel were killed when the Mi-171 helicopter of the Defense Ministry crashed in Fergana region.
