Supreme Court employee in Tashkent detained for accepting a bribe (video)

A senior consultant to the Supreme Court’s criminal board promised to help acquit previously convicted citizens for $10,000.

During an operative event carried out by the State Security Service, a senior consultant of the Supreme Court Criminal Cases Collegium was detained in Tashkent for accepting a bribe.

The detainee promised for $10 thousand to help in the acquittal of two previously convicted citizens, transferring the criminal case through the cassation procedure of the Supreme Court to the Fergana Regional Court.

Also, employees of the Surkhandarya Regional SSS Department detained a senior assistant judge of the judicial panel of the Surkhandarya regional court for economic cases.

The man, having gained the trust of a local businessman, promised to help him get a positive decision on his claims at the appeal stage through judges for $6 thousand.

It turned out that the previously detained person demanded $2 thousand in exchange for a positive decision on a claim filed by a businessman with the Termez Interdistrict Economic Court, and received $600 of the required amount.

Based on the above facts, criminal cases were initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) and Article 211 (Giving a bribe) of the Criminal Code, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied against them.
