Spanish bank Santander plans to enter the market of Uzbekistan
The group can allocate up to $500 million in funding for investment projects in the republic.
One of the leading banks in Spain, Santander, is showing interest in the Uzbek market, Dunyo IA said.
Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Madrid held negotiations with the regional manager of the bank, David Plaza. At the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation.
The Spanish side noted that the bank’s management is considering the possibility of starting work in Uzbekistan.
In addition, the bank expressed its intention to finance promising investment projects planned for implementation in the republic. It is ready to allocate up to $500 million for these purposes.
The possibility of financing investment projects will affect the development of the bank’s relations with the local market, Plaza noted at the end of the meeting. The regional manager indicated that this would speed up the opening of a Santander representative office in Uzbekistan.
