New Consul General of Uzbekistan in Dubai appointed
This post was occupied by the former Consul General of Uzbekistan in New York, Kamol Ikromov.
The new Consul General of Uzbekistan in the Emirate of Dubai, Kamol Ikromov, met with the Director of the Dubai Office of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Maktoum Bin Butti Al Maktoum, and presented him with a consular patent.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE, and also exchanged views on ways to strengthen and expand cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, high technology, innovation, industrial cooperation, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, science and culture.
The new Consul General Kamol Ikromov is 44 years old. Prior to his appointment in 2018–2023, he served as Consul General of Uzbekistan in New York.
In his new post, Kamol Ikromov replaced Alisher Salomov, who headed the Consulate General in Dubai in 2019–2024.
The consular district of the Consulate General includes the emirates of Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain, Fujairah.
It should be recalled that on January 16, a protocol was signed between the governments of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates, according to which Uzbeks will be able to stay in the UAE for up to 30 days without obtaining a visa. This procedure will come into force on February 16.
