New head of Tashkent regional health department appointed

According to the relevant order of the Ministry of Health, Turakul Arziklov was appointed the head of the health department of Tashkent region, the press service of the Health Ministry reported.

In 1993, Turakul Arzikulov graduated from the 2nd Tashkent State Medical Institute, in 1995 – clinical residency, and in 1998 – post-graduate course of the Russian Surgical Scientific Center.

He started his career as a researcher in the Department of Ischemic Heart Disease Surgery of the Republican Specialized Surgical Scientific-Practical Medical Center named after Academician V. Vokhidov.

In different years, he was the deputy director general of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center, the head of the Surkhandarya regional health department, the director of the Tashkent regional branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center, and from June 2018 to May 2023, he worked as the head of the Tashkent regional health department. 

Prior to his appointment, Doctor of Medical Sciences Turakul Arzikulov was working in a responsible position in the Department of Organization of Medical Care under the Ministry of Health.

There is currently no information about the further activities of Ulugbek Abduganiyev, who has been leading the Tashkent regional health department since May 2023.
