South Korea asks citizens of Uzbekistan illegally residing in the country to voluntarily depart by February 29

The Agency for External Labor Migration has urged Uzbek nationals unlawfully residing in South Korea to depart by February 29.

According to the agency's report, citizens of Uzbekistan who are illegally in South Korea have to leave the country by February 29, 2024. They must visit the Immigration Service three working days prior to departure to submit a voluntary exit application, providing their passport and plane ticket. With the certificate provided by the Immigration Service, they can return to their homeland without issue.

The Immigration Service states that if an unlawfully residing individual takes advantage of this opportunity to leave the country voluntarily, they will not be deported and will be eligible to re-enter South Korea in the future.

The Agency for External Labor Migration has also called on Uzbeks to adhere to South Korean migration laws and avoid falling into illegal status.
