According to the Ministry of Energy, a malfunction occurred in the 110 kW power transmission lines “L-Gazli-1” and “L-Gazli-2” in Bukhara region.

“On February 17, due to the emergency shutdown of the 110 kW power transmission lines “L-Gazli-1” and “L-Gazli-2” due to a strong wind in the Bukhara region, 8 gas processing stations at the “Gazli” compressor station and “Gazli” 2 gas driving units at the “Uchqir” compressor station belonging to the factory stopped operating due to sudden emergency.
As a result of their emergency stop, the gas pressure is extremely low. Gas is mined from 7,500 meters below. The gas pressure itself is low, the aggregates drive it up. We had to immediately stop the operation of methane gas stations due to the drop in gas pressure attributable to minus temperature. If we give gas to all CNG filling stations, they will absorb the gas and there would be no gas left for the population and social facilities. In the first place, we temporarily restricted the activity of CNG filling stations for gas supply to the population and social sector facilities, that is, we completely stopped it throughout the republic.
There was an emergency outage in Samarkand and Jizzakh. The accident in Bukhara was caused by the strong wind on February 17. Special crews were working yesterday to eliminate the effects of the wind and the latest restoration was completed at 23:51 yesterday. There is currently no state of emergency in these areas, only self-imposed 2-hour restrictions are in effect. The restriction will not last longer than 2 hours,” he said.
Khasan Toshkhodjayev also informed about the situation related to electricity and gas supply in the republic.
“Due to the drop in gas pressure, gas supply to some of our electricity producing and generating thermal power stations has been stopped. Because their main raw material is gas, the production of electricity also decreased due to the fact that we could not supply a certain amount. We had to limit it to a maximum of 400 MW. Non-economic businesses are shutting down and those areas are shutting down, with as many as 50,000 consumers losing power. This is done in a chess style. There will be no lights for 2 hours in one mahalla, and for another 2 hours in another one. Therefore, it is impossible to say that there was no electricity during the day, we have restored the activity of the central power transmission network, there may have been accidents at small stations in the places where there were interruptions during the day,” Toshkhodjayev said.
According to the information given by an official of the Ministry at the AIMC briefing on February 19, on February 18, a total of 231.4 million kWh of electricity was produced through all power stations. For this, 40.3 million cubic meters of natural gas, 26.3 thousand tons of coal and 10.7 thousand tons of fuel oil were burned in thermal power stations.
21.6 million kWh of electricity was imported from Turkmenistan. Nevertheless, on February 18, the electricity supply deficit amounted to 6.4 million kWh, and restrictions of up to 400 MW were forced to be introduced throughout the country at the peak of the day.
