MES employee detained in Samarkand for accepting a bribe of $600
The male staff demanded money to hide violations that were revealed in two companies during a fire safety inspection.
During an operative event, a junior inspector of the Samarkand regional emergency department, citizen Sh. J., was detained while receiving a bribe.
It turned out that Sh.J., misusing his official powers, together with a rescue guide and a junior inspector of prevention and control, conducted a fire safety inspection at the “O.P.” and “R.K. 777” companies, despite the fact that this was not part of his authority.
During the inspection, they identified a number of violations, which they proposed to hide and not to draw up a protocol, so as not to bring the company’s management to administrative responsibility. For this, Sh.J. demanded $600.
Citizen Sh.J. was detained while receiving the required amount. Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated against him under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
