Peak hour electricity supply restrictions to remain until weather improves — Ministry of Energy

Power supply restrictions during peak hours will remain in force until weather conditions improve, according to the Ministry of Energy.

On February 18, a total of 243.9 million kWh of electricity was produced. To achieve this, power plants burned 41.3 million cubic meters of gas, 25.6 thousand tons of coal, and 12.1 thousand tons of fuel oil. Consumers were delivered 236.2 million kWh of electricity, of which about 10% was imported from Turkmenistan.

Due to emergencies in the gas supply system and a significantly increased demand for electricity from the population, the Ministry of Energy imposed restrictions on electricity supply during peak hours up to 550 MW yesterday, which is more than a third higher than on February 18 — 400 MW.

After the emergency shutdown of two high-voltage 110 kV power lines, "L-Gazli-1" and "L-Gazli-2" in the Bukhara region, 10 gas pumping units were commissioned. Currently, the operation of "L-Gazli-1" has been fully restored, while repairs on "L-Gazli-2" are ongoing.

Considering the reduced gas pressure, the Ministry of Energy decided to maintain restrictions on the operation of all methane filling stations in Uzbekistan.

The department promised to inform separately about changes in the schedule of automobile gas filling compressor stations.
