Egyptian company plans to build a tourist complex worth $100 million near Samarkand
The project, covering an area of 42 hectares, includes the construction of a cable car, a hotel and a sanatorium.

The Egyptian company Arab Nihol Investors is interested in the construction of a $100 million tourist complex in the Samarkand region.
At a meeting with the founder of the Uzbek-Egyptian joint venture Arab Nihol Investors, entrepreneur Ahmed Zeidan at the Uzbekistan Embassy in Cairo, the implementation of a tourist complex project on an area of 42 hectares in the Urgut district was discussed.
The investment project is planned to be implemented in three stages: in the first, a cable car will be built worth $18 million, in the second – a hotel with 100 beds for $32 million, in the third – a sanatorium with 100 beds for $50 million.
As a result, 500 permanent jobs are expected to be created. To fully implement the project, another 1,000 hectares of land will be required. It is planned to attract foreign investors, including from Egypt and Oman.
In February, the president signed a decree on the creation of a tourist and recreational zone “Okhalik – Okbuiro – Mironkul” in the Samarkand region, which will be located in the mahallas “Urta Okhalik”, “Okbuyro”, “Yangijoy” and “Mironkul” of the Samarkand region. The “Okhalik” project will occupy an area of 1,697 hectares, Okbuyro – 414 hectares, Mironkul – 2,545 hectares.
