Companies providing services for organizing Umrah pilgrimage events to be licensed separately
From March 1, 2024, the licensing requirement for carrying out tourism activities has been abolished. In this regard, a separate license is being introduced for travel agencies providing services for organizing and conducting Umrah events.
Parties in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis are considering a bill to include the organization and conduct of Umrah pilgrimage events in the list of licensed activities.
It was noted that the adoption of this bill will create appropriate conditions for pilgrims to perform the Umrah event correctly and safely. The protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens abroad and the provision of guaranteed services will also be ensured.
According to the current procedure, organizations engaged in tourism activities also have the right to organize Umrah events.
By presidential decree, from March 1, 2024, the requirement for a license to carry out tourism activities was canceled and a notification procedure was introduced. It is expected that with the adoption of the above law, a separate license will be introduced for travel agencies providing services for organizing and conducting Umrah events.
It should be recalled that from November 1, 2023, new requirements for organizing Umrah events came into force.
