Gentra driver hits two schoolchildren to death in Jizzakh
Pupils of the 5th and 7th grades were killed on the road due to the excessive speed of the car.
According to the Jizzakh Regional Traffic Police Department, the incident occurred on April 15 at 12:40 on the road passing through the territory of the “Oktom” mahalla, Gallaaral district.
A 32-year-old driver from the Bakhmal district, driving at high speed in his Gentra, lost control over his car, and as a result the car hit two students of the 5th and 7th grades, who were going to school in the opposite direction.
“I was driving at 100 km/h. I lost control. It was raining that day. The back of the car skidded and I was unable to operate the car. Consequently, I hit the children,” the driver said.
As a result of the accident, the children died. The vehicle also punched a cow to death on the roadside.
It turned out that from December 2023 to the present, the driver violated traffic rules 11 times.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened on this fact and an investigation is underway.
