Provision of social services to victims of harassment and violence to be improved
In accordance with the presidential decree, a comprehensive system of social services is being introduced for victims of harassment and violence on the principle of “family – mahalla – district and region”.
A presidential decree “On additional measures to improve the provision of social services to victims of harassment and violence” was adopted (PD-175 dated May 10, 2024).
According to the document, a comprehensive system of social services will be introduced for victims of harassment and violence on the principle of “family – mahalla – district and region”.
From June 1, 2024:
- a procedure is being introduced to provide social, psychological and legal services without requiring a protection order to women who have suffered or are at risk of suffering from harassment and violence;
- cases of harassment and violence against women are registered on the basis of requests received at telephone numbers “102” of the duty department of the internal affairs bodies;
- within 24 hours from the moment of detection of harassment and violence or the risk of their commission, the following must be carried out:
- an interview with the person who committed harassment and violence with the participation of a women’s activist and a local prevention inspector;
- a protection order was issued by a prevention inspector;
- women and their minor children who have suffered from harassment and violence are placed in emergency departments of central district (city) hospitals;
- official protection orders and information about victims are transmitted to the “Inson” centers through the Unified National Social Protection information system.
