Senate approves Yuldashev for second term as Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan
The Senate of Oliy Majlis at a plenary meeting on June 21 approved the candidacy of Nigmatilla Yuldashev for the post of Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan.
The candidacy for the position of Prosecutor General is presented by the president and considered by senators.
“At the 53rd plenary meeting of the Senate, the candidacy of Yuldashev Nigmatilla Tulkinovich, presented for the post of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a new term, was considered and approved,” the press service of the upper chamber reported.
Yuldashev has headed the PGO since the summer of 2019. This term will be his second. According to the law, the term of office of the Prosecutor General is five years. The same person cannot hold this position for more than two consecutive terms.
