Government initiates comprehensive plan to monitor and enforce urban planning regulations
It is stipulated that identifying and enforcing state architectural control over unauthorized buildings and structures does not constitute interference in the legitimate activities of entrepreneurial entities.

A draft government resolution on "Measures to Enhance the Efficiency of State Architectural Control in the Placement and Construction of Buildings and Structures" has been published.
A national commission will be established to prevent violations in the field of urban planning, with the following main tasks:
- Coordinating the activities of authorized bodies to identify and eliminate unauthorized buildings.
- Ensuring the enforcement of court documents related to the elimination of unauthorized buildings.
- Regularly reporting on the work done to the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan and the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is stipulated that identifying and enforcing state architectural control over unauthorized buildings and structures does not constitute interference in the legitimate activities of entrepreneurial entities.
The positions of chief specialists in architecture and construction at district (city) construction and housing and communal services departments (while maintaining the existing procedures for financing and incentivizing their activities) shall be directly subordinated to the Department of State Architectural Control of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services.
The main tasks of the department in ensuring strict compliance with urban planning legislation in the placement and construction of buildings and structures according to approved master plans of settlements are defined as follows:
- Preventing the issuance of land plots for the construction of buildings by district (city) mayors without the proper authorization documents as stipulated by legislative documents.
- Developing and implementing specific measures to prevent unauthorized construction by legal and physical persons, state administration bodies, and local government bodies.
- Reporting identified violations in the placement and construction of buildings to the relevant higher or law enforcement bodies.
- Regularly highlighting the work being done to ensure strict compliance with urban planning legislation in the construction of settlements in the mass media.
