All flights from Urgench Airport to be redirected to Nukus starting July 20
These measures are being taken due to the temporary closure of the airport. Passengers will be provided with free transfers between Urgench and Nukus airports.
As previously reported, Urgench International Airport will be temporarily closed from July 20 to August 7 for the reconstruction of the runway. According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, during the reconstruction period, all scheduled flights will be redirected to Nukus International Airport.
"Uzbekistan Airports will provide free transfers for passengers between Nukus and Urgench airports. Buses will transport passengers both for departures and arrivals," the statement said.
Passengers flying on flight HY-9615 from Urgench to Moscow need to arrive at Urgench Airport by 23:00. According to the schedule, buses will depart from Urgench Airport at 23:30. At 02:30, passengers will be brought to Nukus Airport, from where the flight will depart. Similarly, the process will be organized for passengers arriving in Nukus to be transported to Urgench. After passing border control and collecting luggage at Nukus Airport, buses will be waiting to transport passengers to Urgench.
