Three districts in Tashkent to face power cuts due to modernization works
For over a year, work on the modernization of the capital's network infrastructure has been ongoing.
In certain parts of three districts in Tashkent, temporary power outages are planned for July 29, as reported by "Tashgorenergo".
Repair work on the network infrastructure will be conducted at the following locations:
- In Chilanzar district — part of the "Nafosat" neighborhood from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM;
- In Yashnabad district — part of the "Donishmand" neighborhood from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM;
- In Almazar district — part of the "Zarkaynar" neighborhood from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Since the summer of 2023, a large-scale modernization of the power grids has been ongoing in the capital. In June, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed — for example, on June 8, eight districts were left without electricity.
In August of last year, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transfer of leadership of the energy sector to an emergency mode of operation. The president urged officials to act urgently to prepare the energy system for the autumn-winter period.
At a meeting in October, the president instructed the development of a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers to be completed by the end of 2026. By this time, it is planned to reduce the share of energy losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the task of eliminating emergency power outages at a meeting on June 10. An additional 14 trillion UZS will be allocated to prepare the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
