The Ministry of Justice has officially registered the Islamic Institute named after Imam Termizi. Admission for the 2024-2025 academic year will be open from August 14 to August 20. This brings the total number of higher religious educational institutions in the country to four.
Uzbekistan's Ministry of Justice has officially registered the Islamic Institute named after Imam Termizi, as reported by the press service of the Muslim Board.
The institute offers a four-year program leading to a bachelor's degree, training specialists in Hadith sciences, religious studies, and the Arabic language. With this addition, the number of higher religious educational institutions in the country has reached four (Imam Bukhari Tashkent Islamic Institute, Mir Arab Higher Madrasa, and the Hadith Science School).
Admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year will be announced. Applications from prospective students will be accepted from August 14 to August 20 (until 6:00 PM on the last day).
Applicants must submit the following documents to the admissions committee:
Application addressed to the rector of the educational institution;
Copy of the passport or ID card (the original must be presented);
Original diploma and its attachment from a secondary specialized Islamic educational institution;
Six color photos of size 3.5×4.5 cm (taken within the last three months with a white background).
Applicants will take entrance exams in the following subjects:
Arabic language (multiple-choice test) 30×3.1 — 93 points;
Hadith and Mustalahul Hadith (creative exam) — 63 points;
History of Uzbekistan (multiple-choice test) 30×1.1 — 33 points.
Applicants with a national or international B2-level certificate in Arabic will automatically receive the maximum score in that subject without having to take the exam. A fee of half the base calculation amount (170,000 UZS) will be charged for submitting an application to the educational institution.
Additional information on the dates of the entrance exams will be provided later.
For reference, the establishment of the Islamic Institute is a continuation of the project initiated during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the Surkhandarya region in 2019. Following his directives, a secondary specialized Islamic educational institution was established in Termez for the 2020-2021 academic year, with the first cohort graduating in 2023-2024. The institute was founded as a natural continuation of this institution.
