Bukhara to attract five international restaurant and hotel chains by year-end
Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed that streets and neighborhoods in the Bukhara region be specialized according to service sectors.
During a meeting on the region's socio-economic development held on August 12, the president announced the signing of a decree aimed at developing the service industry in the region. The document covers 54 streets and 62 neighborhoods.
Each street and neighborhood will be assigned to one of 10 project organizations. District governors will be responsible for the construction of service facilities in these areas and their subsequent commissioning.
Each location will specialize in one of the following sectors: food services, hospitality, healthcare, crafts, trade, or household services. The project aims to establish 2,000 enterprises and create 6,000 jobs.
The president has set the goal of attracting at least five international hotel and restaurant chains to the region by the end of the year. In addition, it is planned to open branches of 20 local food and accommodation chains in Bukhara.
Information about business opportunities available in each district and neighborhood will be posted on a special online platform.
During the same meeting, the head of state announced an additional $100 million allocation for the development of the Bukhara region. He also ordered the launch of "service mortgages" within 10 days.
Local educational buildings and premises that are not fully utilized will be leased to businesses. The Tax Committee will be tasked with ensuring that payments from major taxpayers are accounted for in local budgets to secure funding for the regions.
