Uzbekistan welcomes over 5.3 million foreign tourists in five months
More than 5.3 million foreign citizens traveled to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes during the first five months of 2026, marking a substantial increase in international arrivals compared to the previous year.
According to data released by the National Statistics Committee, a total of 5,351,868 foreign arrivals were recorded between January and May 2026. This figure represents an increase of 1.1 million visitors, or 27.3%, over the same period in 2025.
The vast majority of travelers arrived from neighboring Central Asian states and regional partners. Kyrgyzstan topped the list of source markets, contributing over 1.5 million visitors, closely followed by Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, which both crossed the 1.2 million mark. Beyond the immediate neighborhood, the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, and China also registered strong visitor numbers.
