School principal in Andijan fined for attracting teachers to forced labor

Earlier, information spread on social media that teachers at School No. 37 of Asaka district were forced to clean up piles of construction debris.

The press service of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction reported that about 30 teachers were forcibly involved in cleaning up the school grounds from construction debris; they did this work for fear of losing their jobs.

During the study, a violation of the requirements of Article 25 of the Labor Code and Cabinet Resolution No. 349 was revealed.

The principal of school No. 37 of the Asaka district, in accordance with Part 2 of Article 51 of the Administrative Force to Work, was fined 100 BCAs (34 million UZS).
