Russian authorities detain foreign national for recruiting citizens of Uzbekistan into terrorist ranks
In the Khabarovsk region, a foreign individual has been found to be recruiting citizens of Uzbekistan into terrorist ranks.
A foreign national in Russia's Khabarovsk region has been recruiting Uzbek citizens into terrorist organizations, according to a report from the regional office of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB).
"A person born in one of the Central Asian states, who was assisting in terrorist activities, has been detained. The detainee was recruiting citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to undergo training and directly participate in the activities of an international terrorist organization," the report stated.
Following the actions of the accused, a case has been initiated under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Assistance to Terrorist Activity).
The individual has been taken into custody, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
