Uzbekistan's foreign trade with 187 countries hits $36.8 billion, China and Russia top the list
Over the past seven months of 2024, Uzbekistan engaged in trade with 187 countries, reaching a total foreign trade turnover of $36.8 billion, according to the Statistics Agency. The country's trade activities were heavily concentrated with a few key partners, with China and Russia leading the list.
China accounted for $6.9 billion (18.6%) of Uzbekistan's total foreign trade, closely followed by Russia at $6.8 billion (18.5%). Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the Republic of Korea were also significant trade partners, contributing $2.3 billion (6.2%), $1.7 billion (4.6%), and $1.2 billion (3.2%), respectively.
Other notable trading partners included Turkmenistan ($741 million), France ($690 million), Germany ($601 million), Afghanistan ($573 million), and the United States ($553 million).
Of the total $36.8 billion turnover, Uzbekistan's exports amounted to $14.8 billion, while imports stood at $22 billion.
