On September 5, the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, with the support of the CIS Antiterrorist Center, held joint antiterrorist exercises, “Vostok-Antiterror 2024,” at the military training ground.
Leaders and representatives from the competent bodies of the SCO and CIS member states, as well as observers from authorized structures of interested international organizations, were invited to the exercises.
As part of the scenarios for freeing hostages and neutralizing mock terrorists at critical infrastructure facilities, special and military equipment, including aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles, were employed.
Special units from the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense, as well as the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, were involved in the events.
During the exercises, elements of a special military operation to block and eliminate illegal armed terrorist groups were demonstrated, as well as measures to suppress mass riots and resolve crisis situations.
These joint antiterrorist exercises marked the 20th such event held under the auspices of the CIS Antiterrorist Center, with Uzbekistan having participated in six of them.
