Tashkent mayor approves 732.6 billion UZS budget for housing and utility repairs before winter season
The allocated funds will be used for the capital repair of Tashkent’s multi-apartment housing stock, heating, drinking water, electricity, and gas supply networks.
Tashkent mayor Shavkat Umurzakov has signed an order on preparing the city’s economic sectors, social facilities, and multi-apartment housing stock for stable operations during the 2024/2025 autumn-winter period.
According to Appendix 3 of the order, 732.6 billion UZS will be required for these preparations: 2.793 billion UZS will be allocated from the national budget, while the remaining 729.83 billion UZS will come from sponsors and other sources.
The document highlights that 58.93 billion UZS will be spent on the capital and current repair of the multi-apartment housing stock.
Additionally, the funds will be allocated for the following works:
2.793 billion UZS for the capital and current repair of social facilities;
623.848 billion UZS for preparing the heating system and equipment for stable operations;
27.208 billion UZS for drinking water facilities;
2.996 billion UZS for electricity networks and devices;
16.846 billion UZS for gas supply facilities and devices.
The order specifies that these funds will be used for repair and restoration work in 2,888 multi-apartment buildings across all districts of Tashkent, 634 boiler houses, 2,399 km of drinking water networks, 2,297 km of power transmission lines, and 16.9 km of gas pipelines.
Furthermore, a working group has been established in Tashkent, composed of specialists from responsible organizations, to carry out the work and address public concerns.
