Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia discuss preparations for Strategic Dialogue Summit in Samarkand
Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, held talks in New York with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to discuss bilateral relations and preparations for the upcoming Samarkand summit.
Saidov, in a statement posted on his Telegram channel, shared details of the meeting: "We had a thorough discussion on our bilateral and multilateral relations with His Excellency Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We emphasized the dynamic development of our close partnership across all sectors. Regular exchanges of delegations at all levels are helping to strengthen Uzbek-Saudi ties."
The two ministers also reviewed the ongoing preparations for the second summit of the Heads of State for the Strategic Dialogue "Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) – Central Asia," scheduled to be held in 2025 in Samarkand.
It is worth noting that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in and addressed the inaugural summit of the Strategic Dialogue, which took place on July 19, 2023, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
