“We sincerely congratulate all our friends in Ukraine on Independence Day!” the ministry said.
Ukraine is marking the 35th anniversary of its independence on August 24. On this day in 1991, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine.
The decision was later endorsed in a nationwide referendum held on December 1, 1991, when more than 90% of voters supported Ukraine’s independence.
