Mirziyoyeva made the remarks following Aliyev’s visit to Uzbekistan, where he led a high-level Azerbaijani delegation.
“We were honored to welcome Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the high-ranking guests accompanying him, along with their family members, to our country,” she wrote.
She said ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan extended beyond official relations, reflecting the close affinity between the two peoples.
“Our countries are connected by special bonds of brotherhood. This warmth is felt not only in official relations, but also in the deep affection and goodwill our peoples have for one another,” Mirziyoyeva said.
She pointed to the two countries’ shared history, culture and traditions, saying these longstanding ties were increasingly translating into practical cooperation and joint projects in areas ranging from infrastructure to investment.
Mirziyoyeva described Aliyev’s visit as another significant chapter in the development of bilateral relations. During the visit, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan signed a treaty on eternal friendship.
“In my view, even the name of this document clearly expresses the essence of the ties that connect Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan today,” she said.
“We are always happy to welcome our Azerbaijani friends to Uzbekistan. Welcome, dear brothers and sisters, to our country, which will always receive you with open arms,” Mirziyoyeva added.
