Zamin Foundation equips 180 schools in Karakalpakstan with water purification systems

As part of an ongoing initiative to improve access to clean drinking water, the Zamin Foundation has equipped 180 schools in Karakalpakstan with modern water purification systems. This effort is aimed at providing students and staff with safe, clean water while promoting better health and hygiene practices in educational institutions.

During a recent visit to School No. 1 and Specialized Boarding School No. 4 in Nukus, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, Chairperson of the Zamin Foundation Board of Trustees, met with teachers and students to discuss their achievements and assess the newly installed water purification systems. The initiative is part of the foundation's broader mission to enhance living conditions and health outcomes for schoolchildren.

To ensure the sustainability of the project, UNICEF experts are conducting training sessions at the schools on water conservation, sanitation, and hygiene. These efforts are designed to educate students and staff on best practices in maintaining a healthy learning environment.

As the "Clean Drinking Water" project continues, an additional 52 schools in Karakalpakstan will be equipped with water purification systems. This expansion will further improve the learning conditions and health of thousands of children across the region.
