Uzbekistan expands global trade network, reaches $48.2 billion in foreign trade
Uzbekistan expanded its global trade significantly in the first nine months of 2024, establishing trade relations with 190 countries.
According to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency, between January and September, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $48.2 billion, demonstrating an active engagement with the global market.
The trade balance showed an import volume of $28.4 billion, surpassing exports, which amounted to $19.8 billion, highlighting the country’s current focus on imports to support its economic growth and industrial development.
China and Russia remained Uzbekistan's top trading partners, accounting for 18.7% and 18% of the trade volume, respectively. Kazakhstan ranked third with a 6.2% share, followed by Turkey at 4.5% and South Korea at 3.1%.
