Andijan State Technical Institute being established to boost industrial education

A new higher education institution, the Andijan State Technical Institute, is being established by merging three existing entities: the Andijan Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the Andijan Institute of Economics and Construction, and the Andijan branch of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

The establishment was formalized on November 18 under a presidential decree, according to the “Legal Information” Telegram channel.

The institute is tasked with preparing specialists with modern knowledge and practical skills in critical sectors such as automotive engineering, electrical engineering, energy, textiles, construction, and other industrial fields. It aims to address the region's demand for highly qualified professionals.

From the 2025/2026 academic year, the institute will:

•  Expand training programs in fields like energy engineering, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and robotics;
•  Introduce an international standards-based evaluation system for student performance and faculty efficiency;
•  Implement a “one-stop shop” service to address students’ organizational and legal needs;
•  Offer lessons in foreign languages for talented bachelor’s and master’s students in designated groups.

Students currently enrolled in the three merged institutions will continue their studies uninterrupted at the Andijan State Technical Institute. Starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, graduating students will receive diplomas issued by the newly established institute.
