KIDL, a South Korean agricultural firm, signed a $62 million agreement with Shamchiroq To’rtkol to establish state-of-the-art greenhouses in Karakalpakstan. This collaboration aims to enhance the region's agricultural output and create opportunities for local farmers through advanced technologies.
One of the highlights of the visit was a $38 million project to create a women's training center in Nukus. This initiative, supported by Sookmyung Women’s University, the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF), and Hyundai Research Institute, will provide vocational training and professional development services to women in Karakalpakstan.
Agreements were also reached to expand IT capabilities in the region. Acryl, a South Korean IT company, is committed to establishing IT centers to train skilled professionals. Meanwhile, People & Dream Co. discussed labor migration programs and plans to open training centers for language and vocational skills.
The National Agency for the Development of Information Technology pledged to equip schools in Karakalpakstan with computers, addressing educational infrastructure needs.
Discussions extended to environmental projects, with Karakalpak representatives exploring funding opportunities for green initiatives through the Green Climate Fund. Talks with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) focused on implementing water-saving technologies to address local water management challenges.
The visit, led by the chairman of the Jokargy Kenes, Amanbay Orinbayev, marked a significant milestone in bolstering Karakalpakstan-South Korea cooperation. Meetings with South Korean business leaders showcased a mutual commitment to innovation, economic development, and social progress in the region.
