Modern tourist centers to be established in three districts of Surkhandarya
According to a presidential decree, tourist centers will be established in the Boysun, Sariosiyo, and Jarkurgan districts. The available land plots in these areas will be sold through an electronic online auction.
A presidential decree has been adopted regarding the improvement of tourism infrastructure in the mountainous and recreational areas of Surkhandarya region and the construction of modern service and tourism facilities.
According to the decree, the following will be established:
- the "Omonkhona" tourist center on a 220.5-hectare land plot in the Boysun district;
- the "Sangardak" tourist center on a 615-hectare land plot in the Sariosiyo district;
- the "Obihayot" tourist center on a 110-hectare land plot on the shore of the "Oktepa" reservoir in the Obihayot neighborhood of the Jarkurgan district;
- a state institution in the form of the "Surkhandarya Regional Directorate for the Development and Management of Tourism Infrastructure" will be established to develop and manage the "Omonkhona," "Sangardak," and "Obihayot" tourist centers.
The vacant land plots intended for entrepreneurial and urban development in the areas of these tourist centers will be sold through electronic online auctions based on either ownership or lease rights.
In order to attract private investments, vacant land plots will be auctioned online in 2025–2027 for the construction of hotels, family guesthouses, service complexes, and recreation areas. These plots will be sold on a 10-year installment basis with equal payments.
It should be noted that in September 2023, the President of Uzbekistan adopted a decree regarding the improvement of tourism infrastructure and the construction of modern service and tourism facilities in the mountainous and recreational areas of the Kashkadarya region.
