Uzbekistan, UAE plan to expand tourism and economic cooperation
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, Umid Shodiev, has held a meeting with the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, to map out the expansion of bilateral trade and leisure travel networks.
The discussions centered on strengthening commercial ties and expanding tourism collaboration between Uzbekistan and the UAE. The Emirati minister praised the systemic reforms implemented across Uzbekistan, noting that his country follows the ongoing socioeconomic transformations with great interest.
During the talks, the UAE official confirmed that a high-level delegation from his ministry would attend the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum. He highlighted the forum as a critical platform for supporting businesses across Central Asia and elevating the broader investment appeal of the entire region.
Both sides emphasized that tourism serves as a vital pillar for deepening bilateral ties. The officials paid close attention to logistical connectivity, detailing plans to increase the frequency of direct passenger flights operating between cities in Uzbekistan and the UAE.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to draft and sign a formal memorandum of cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism and the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan to institutionalize these joint initiatives.
