Uzbekistan and Iran strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation
Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Fariddin Nasriyev met with Javad Nikbin, a member of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) and the newly appointed head of the Iran-Uzbekistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to further strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, emphasizing the need to enhance collaboration within the framework of the Iran-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary group.
It was noted that, thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of both countries, multifaceted cooperative relations between Uzbekistan and Iran have reached a new level in recent years.
The meeting also addressed plans to hold a session of the inter-parliamentary friendship group this year to expand cooperation.
The Iranian side supported a proposal to visit Uzbekistan with representatives of the business community and to organize a business forum in Uzbekistan involving parliamentarians and business representatives.
