Russian Defense Minister arrives in Uzbekistan
The Russian Defense Minister, Andrey Belousov, has arrived in Tashkent on an official visit, according to Russia's Ministry of Defense.
During his visit, Belousov is scheduled to hold talks with his Uzbek counterpart, Major General Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov, as well as with representatives of the country's military and political leadership.
The discussions will focus on ensuring security in Central Asia and exploring prospects for the development of military and military-technical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
It should be noted that Shukhrat Kholmukhammedov was appointed Defense Minister in November 2024, replacing Bahodir Kurbonov, who became the head of the country’s State Security Service after Abdusalom Azizov’s dismissal.
