Bukhara police detain man trying to sell counterfeit 132 million UZS for $3,000
During an operation conducted by the officers of the Gijduvan district police department in the Bukhara region, the production and attempted sale of counterfeit currency were intercepted.

Specifically, a 26-year-old resident of Chirchik was detained while attempting to sell 6,644 counterfeit 20,000-UZS banknotes (amounting to a total of 132,880,000 UZS) for $3,000. He was also found in possession of two aluminum rods, packing paper for the counterfeit money, and plastic bags.
As the operation continued, authorities discovered that the detainee had purchased the counterfeit money from another individual residing in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.
A 28-year-old resident of the Akhangaran district, along with his 32-year-old accomplice, had been producing counterfeit 100,000-soum banknotes using a color printer in a rented apartment.
The authorities confiscated counterfeit currency amounting to 28,300,000 UZS, a device for cutting paper banknotes, packing paper, and plastic bags from their possession.
A criminal case has been initiated under paragraphs “b” and “v” of part 2, article 176 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (manufacturing and distributing counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities on a large scale, committed by a group of individuals through prior conspiracy). An investigation is ongoing.
