Over 17 billion UZS worth of electricity used illegally in January 2025
In January alone of this year, illegal electricity usage totaling 17.411 billion UZS was reported in Uzbekistan, according to the Regional Electric Networks JSC.

It was specified that this amount corresponds to 10,051,619 kWh of electricity.
It was also reported that the collected materials have been re-evaluated, and the documents have been forwarded to law enforcement agencies.
On January 5, reports indicated illegal electricity usage amounting to nearly 700 million UZS in two districts of Kashkadarya. On January 12, it was revealed that electricity worth 2.1 billion UZS had been illegally consumed at a milk processing plant in Namangan.
On January 13, illegal electricity usage totaling nearly 3 billion UZS was uncovered in Namangan and Andijan. On January 16, cases of illegal use of energy resources were detected in the Yangiabad district of Jizzakh region, Zangiota district of Tashkent region, Beruni district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and Uchtepa district in Tashkent city.
