On February 17, the Senate Council of the Oliy Majlis decided to convene the fourth plenary session of the Senate on February 20, 2025.
It is noted that senators plan to discuss and approve the concept of ensuring citizens’ freedom of conscience and the state policy on religion, the financial support of business entities, the further improvement of credit information exchange, tax administration, land use, construction regulations, the donor movement, and laws aimed at supporting families and women.
One of the key items is the law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of the Financial Support System for Business Entities," which aims to expand business entities' access to financial services, introduce more effective financing mechanisms, and establish a modern legislative framework for financial (factoring) services, including the waiver of claims in favor of third parties, beyond just monetary demands.
Similarly, the law regulating credit information exchange will help protect citizens from fraud in the credit sector, prevent unauthorized loans from being issued in their names, and eliminate cases where online credit funds are withdrawn remotely without their consent.
The law on land use is intended to strengthen the legal framework for protecting cultural and recreational areas, as well as other green zones, preserve their territories, enhance the accountability of officials, ensure coordination between land and urban planning regulations, and improve the effectiveness of land use monitoring.
The plenary session will also cover laws related to the judiciary, prisoners’ rights during incarceration, waste collection and disposal services, and more.
Additionally, several international treaties and agreements are set to be ratified and joined during the fourth plenary session. The issue of modifying the borders of Samarkand city, as well as the Samarkand and Akdarya districts in the Samarkand region, will also be discussed.
