The program will involve IT specialists and entrepreneurs of Uzbek origin working abroad, along with foreign partners. Its primary goal is to strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as a leading player in the digital economy.
Participants in the program will be designated as Tech Ambassadors, with key responsibilities including:
- Attracting investments and global IT companies to the local market;
- Supporting startups, helping them expand internationally, and providing mentorship;
- Building an international image for Uzbekistan's IT sector and showcasing its potential.
The Tech Ambassadors will receive up to $10,000 annually to implement their initiatives. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan twice a year at the government's expense for strategic meetings.
Every month, the ambassadors will be able to participate in online meetings with decision-makers in the IT sector. They will also have direct access to key figures in the tech industry, investors, and government officials.
The list of selected ambassadors is expected to be announced in April, with their first meeting with Shermatov and IT Park leadership scheduled for May in Uzbekistan.
