Tashkent launches raids against illegal waste dumping
Tashkent authorities have launched a series of raids targeting individuals who illegally dump waste in unauthorized areas, according to the press service of the city administration.

Officials have warned that measures will be taken against "citizens who violate regulations by disposing of waste irresponsibly." The administration emphasized its commitment to addressing public complaints and taking "decisive action to maintain cleanliness in the capital."
In collaboration with law enforcement agencies, large-scale inspections are being conducted to identify offenders. Those caught illegally disposing of waste will face fines in accordance with existing administrative laws.
"Keeping the city clean and orderly is a responsibility shared by all. We urge residents to follow regulations, respect the environment, and prevent pollution in their hometown," the statement read.
According to Article 91-1 of the Administrative Code, improper disposal of solid household or construction waste, as well as the dumping of liquid household waste in unauthorized locations, is punishable by a fine:
- Individuals: 1 to 3 BCU (Base Calculation Unit)
- Officials: 10 to 20 BCU
For repeat offenses within a year of the initial violation, fines increase to:
- Individuals: 5 to 10 BCU
- Officials: 20 to 30 BCU
Dumping waste that should be disposed of at designated landfill sites incurs heavier penalties:
- Individuals: 5 to 10 BCU
- Officials: 20 to 30 BCU
For repeated violations within a year, penalties rise further:
- Individuals: 10 to 15 BCU
- Officials: 30 to 50 BCU
