Uzbekistan and France sign joint declaration on strategic partnership

The parties also inked agreements on the mobility of specialists and students, as well as on the mutual exemption of diplomatic passport holders from visa requirements.

At the conclusion of negotiations in Paris, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emmanuel Macron adopted a Joint Declaration on Establishing a Strategic Partnership.

In the presence of the heads of state, an intergovernmental agreement on the mobility of specialists and students was exchanged.

During the state visit, the following agreements were also signed:

•  An intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Uzbekistan-France University;
•  An intergovernmental agreement on readmission;
•  A cooperation program in investment and innovation, envisioning the implementation of promising cooperation projects worth 6.5 billion euros with France's leading companies;
•  A cooperation program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2025-2026;
•  A cooperation program with the French Development Agency for 2026-2030;
•  An intergovernmental agreement on the mutual exemption of diplomatic passport holders from visa requirements;
•  A declaration on cooperation within international organizations;
•  A declaration on cooperation in the healthcare sector;
•  A memorandum on expanding the teaching of the French language;
•  A declaration on cooperation in music, cinema, and theater;
•  Cooperation agreements between the Uzbekistan Culture and Arts Development Foundation and France’s Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, and the Central Asian Studies Institute;
•  A memorandum on establishing partnership relations between the cities of Tashkent and Paris, along with other bilateral documents.
