Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Head of the Ministry, held discussions on the initiative with a delegation from China, which included Wang Zhiyong, head of Xinjiang New Vision Investment Development Company, and Zhang Xuan, chairman of Envision Energy. The talks focused on establishing a 300-hectare science and technology industrial park. The proposed development will host 12 investment projects and include dedicated zones for research and logistics.
The ministry anticipates that the project will boost the production of high-value-added goods. Beyond strengthening Uzbek-Chinese investment ties, the new complex is expected to accelerate the exchange of innovations between the two nations.
Earlier this year, construction began on the “Buyuk Ipak Yuli” industrial zone in Almalyk, another joint venture with China. This facility will produce small refrigerators, transformers, other electrical equipment, textiles, construction materials, and pharmaceutical products.
Additionally, Chinese companies are planning to establish an industrial zone within the Chirchik Technopark, which will house approximately 20 enterprises in the electrical engineering, textile, and pharmaceutical sectors. This project is backed by $200 million in foreign investment.
